Callie's Cake Smash

I was soo excited when Callie’s father inquired about booking a cake smash for his daughter. He wanted the deluxe Cake Smash with family portraits so that session had a lot of different parts and would make things soo interesting.

We started with the family portraits and I was happy that Callie’s grandfather wanted to be in the family pictures. Everybody looked amazing and were soo happy to be part of the session.

Then I photographed Callie and her big brother together and their pictures came out beautifully. I’m soo happy that they’ll have these pictures to have when they’ll get older.

After their portraits, I changed the photography area for Callie’s cake smash set, which the parents wanted a non-themed setup. So they chose pink balloons and a long pink pennant stretching across the backdrop. For her cake smash, she LOVED the cake and was sharing the cake by extending her arm holding cake to her family, to me and to the balloons behind her. She even did a little dance right after she ate some cake.

After her cake smash, I prepped the baby bathtub for her bath splash and she had fun playing with the ducks.

Utmost Couture Maternity Session

If anyone had to ask which type of photo shoot is my favorite, I would have to say Maternity Sessions. The mamas usually come in wearing comfortable clothes and shoes and after they wear the maternity gowns, they’re transformed into beautiful maternity models.

The majority of the mamas always choose the Coco couture dress for their Couture maternity session and every mama wearing that dress look and feel amazing and everything comes together. From getting their hair and makeup done to posing, their Maternity images look stunning. And an amazing example to showcase this was Renee’s session.

For her maternity session, she chose the CoCo ivory dress, which is a designer ruffled tulle gown. These types of designer dresses are known for their showstopping appearance, showcasing tons of ruffles and their fullness. The second dress that she chose for her session was a very sleek black dress that had a short turtleneck and had a teardrop opening at the upper back. I really liked the idea that she chose two different styles for her session, one for being whimsical and a princess feeling and the other dress for a modern feel.

Newborn Baby Boy

I had another newborn baby boy in my studio and I was exctied to photograph their family and his newborn photos.

Mom wanted her session to have warm neutrals, green and blues incorported into her session and I was excited to use all of those colors together. For their family session, I used a creamy pecan backdrop, which is perfect to coordinate with any color. I photographed her immediate family first and then the mom and dad with their newborn baby boy, parents individually and lastly, their 2 year old sister with her baby brother.

Then I moved on to photograph her newborn son to pose on the blanket. The blanket was cream and he wore a sage romper with pockets. He was able to stay asleep for the majority of his poses and he was photographed beautifully.

After photographing him on the blanket, I photographed him in a round bowl and in a moon shaped bowl (those two props are the most requested for boys).

My most recent Newborn Session

When my client emailed me to photograph her Maternity Session, I was disappointed since I was booked and unavailable for her session (good thing for a business person, but still disappointed for me personally). However she wanted to book her newborn session with me and I was really excited.

Mom had her baby a week past her expected date and we coordinated a date to photograph her family for their newborn photo shoot.

For the Family photos, they came dressed really nicely (mom was in a beautiful sequin grey dress, oldest was dressed in a white top and warm plaid A line skirt and Dad was dressed in a nice button down shirt with slacks. All of their family pictures came out beautifully and I had a great time photographing my client’s daughter for the sibling pictures.

After Family photos, I concentrated on photographing their newborn baby boy. Mom requested the colors of burnt orange, blues and warm neutrals. I was very excited when she requested burnt orange/rust because I usually get requests for warm neutrals or blue/pink colors. And then mom came in with a warm tweed suspender newborn outfit and it worked perfectly with my rust blanket that I had planned to use for her son’s blanket poses.

After I photographed her son on the blanket, I photographed him in a round bowl and a moon bowl.

Super Mario Cake Smash

A few weeks ago, I was contacted to do a themed Cake Smash for a boy turning 1 in May. We went over the various themes and when I mentioned to his mom that I just received a Super Marios Backdrop, she said “Yes lets do that!” I was also honored that she came from Brooklyn, NY to celebrate him turning 1.

All themed cakes smashes comes with a portrait session for the baby to show his milestones (crawling, standing, sitting) and James’ portrait session was based on a urban feel, with black/gold Nike baby sneakers with James sitting next to a boom box.

Then the backdrops were changed for the Super Mario Bros Cake Smash and the cake was a powerup mushroom. He barely touched the cake but he had a ball playing with the Super Mario Cutouts from his session and just being on set.

All in all, everybody had a great time watching James enjoy his themed cake smash photo shoot

Dee's Maternity Session

Dee wanted a maternity session to capture herself and to capture her with her entire family. We scheduled the session in November at Clove Lakes Park, which is located in Staten Island, NY.

The dress that she chose to wear was a light pink, long sleeve maternity gown that had a sweetheart neckline. She looked gorgeous posing on the pathway and on the bridges. She also posed with her beautiful family on the stone bridge.
