My most recent Newborn Session

When my client emailed me to photograph her Maternity Session, I was disappointed since I was booked and unavailable for her session (good thing for a business person, but still disappointed for me personally). However she wanted to book her newborn session with me and I was really excited.

Mom had her baby a week past her expected date and we coordinated a date to photograph her family for their newborn photo shoot.

For the Family photos, they came dressed really nicely (mom was in a beautiful sequin grey dress, oldest was dressed in a white top and warm plaid A line skirt and Dad was dressed in a nice button down shirt with slacks. All of their family pictures came out beautifully and I had a great time photographing my client’s daughter for the sibling pictures.

After Family photos, I concentrated on photographing their newborn baby boy. Mom requested the colors of burnt orange, blues and warm neutrals. I was very excited when she requested burnt orange/rust because I usually get requests for warm neutrals or blue/pink colors. And then mom came in with a warm tweed suspender newborn outfit and it worked perfectly with my rust blanket that I had planned to use for her son’s blanket poses.

After I photographed her son on the blanket, I photographed him in a round bowl and a moon bowl.

Uma's Maternity Session

I’m very honored that my clients travel from Bayonne, NJ to Staten Island for their maternity session. Uma and her husband traveled from Bayonne NJ to capture their maternity session. Their session took place at Snug Harbor Cultural Center in Staten Island and it was such a beautiful session.

For my maternity clients, I offer my expecting mama’s to wear a dress from my client closet to wear during their session. Uma already had a Rose Gold chiffon and sequin dress that she wore for her session. So she chose to wear a Steel Blue maternity gown from my client closet.

At Snug Harbor, we started the session with Uma wearing her Rose Gold gown and it was GORGEOUS!! She was soo elegant and glowing. I photographed her at various locations at Snug Harbor. I enjoyed capturing their love for each other and the excitement that they’re felt while their little one was soon to be arriving.

After about an hour or more capturing them in different locations at Snug Harbor, she changed into the Blue maternity gown to be photographed in front of Connie Gretz’s garden. She loved that the gown had a different feel compared to her Rose Gold gown - she was able to play into the poses while feeling like a Diva. Both her and husband had a great time with this part of the session.

I’m very grateful that Uma hired me to capture her Maternity session - it was great to get to know them and we all had soo much fun while enjoying the different sceneries at Snug Harbor.
