Family Session from Florida to Staten Island

When I got a call from Milton requesting for a Family Session this summer, I was surprised because him and his son traveled all the way from Vero Beach, FL to see family in Staten Island, NY. So I was honored that he wanted to personally hire me to capture those family moments.

Milton and his family agreed on being photographed at Snug Harbor Cultural Center and I love Family sessions there because it’s such a relaxing environment there and I’m able to get to know my clients on a personal level. I photographed their family pictures at almost every site at Snug Harbor, such as the Perrenial Garden, in front of Connie Gretz’s Secret Garden and the Arch before the White Garden. They came in wearing all white tops (button down shirts and a knit top) coupled with jeans. Then more towards the end of their session, they changed into Green tops, which complimented the scenery at Snug Harbor. My favorite part of the session was when they had a “decompress” shot where they just made silly faces at the camera. It was a great way to end the session.

Overall, I’m soo happy that I had the opportunity to photograph his family and meet people from different parts of the United States.

Luke's Cake Smash

Luke and my son have something in common. They both have the same birthday. So this session was very special to me. I was excited when his mother wanted a “Wild One” cake smash. I love the idea of picking backdrops and then bringing in props to make the entire set come to life. I offered her a few choices for pick the Wild One backdrop and then I just bought various props that complimented the backdrop. I was even amped up that my husband had these small lanterns that had patina over the decades.

The first half an hour was dedicated to Luke’s formal first birthday pictures. Against a medium blue backdrop, he was dressed in a Seer Sucker Suit with Moccasins. He was soo cute in that suit and had such a great time taking pictures. Then he was changed into his Wild One diaper cover and onesie for his official Cake Smash. I took some pictures of the cake and of Luke on the set just playing around with the props. We knew we were ready to bring in the cake and he went full board with it. Even though he didnt eat much of it, he loved playing with the icing and using the props… err… his tools to mess around with the cake. He had a BALL!!

I’m soo happy that I was able to experience Luke’s cake smash and be able to capture these moments for his family.

Someone's Expecting...!!

I was soo excited when Danielle hired me to photograph her Maternity session. She wanted to be quickly photographed before the baby arrives and it couldn’t have been a more perfect day for the photography shoot.

It was decided that she would be photographed outside at Snug Harbor in Staten Island a few hours before sunset. The dresses that she chose was a sweetheart strapless dress in the color of Raspberry and the her second dress was a fitted royal blue dress with chiffon at the bottom for a more dramatic look.

We walked to different spots in Snug Harbor to get different looks for their photoshoot, such as the Perrenial Garden, in front of Connie Gretz’s Secret Garden and the Arch before the White Garden.

Danielle and her husband looked amazing and wish them the best of luck.

Front Door Session

A few months ago, I was excited when Shannon wanted to have a Front Door Session for her family. These sessions are quick photo shoots where I capture their pictures of their family. They're done outside in front of their homes and they’re really great sessions to have during the pandemic.

I haven’t seen Shannon’s family in 6 months and the last time that I photographed their family was exactly a year ago. So it was amazing to see their youngest growing up.

I photographed them first as a Family and then captured the kids relationships individually with their parents. I had such a great time with their session and love their relationships with each other.

A baby Brother and son

A few months ago, I was asked to photograph Mosunmola’s son for his newborn session. She chose the mini wrapped photography shoot but also wanted a sibling session of her daughter and son together.

For all of my family sessions, I like to keep the colors light so they were photographed against a beige backdrop with using a cream flokati. His sister was extremely happy to get to hold him and take pictures and you can feel her emotions when looking at their pictures.

After taking pictures for their sibling session, I photographed her baby brother in props and on the blanket. I chose steel blue and grey blue's to give a hint of neutral color for their pictures.

Overall I’m soo happy that Mosunmola hired me to photograph her beautiful family - it was such an honor and I had a great time getting to know them.

Emma's Newborn Photo Shoot

I was soo excited when Emma’s mother contacted me to photograph her newborn baby. Emma’s photo shoot was originally planned to be photographed at their house, with capturing her family in more of a candid setting but they came over to my studio and we had a blast.

I had such a good time photographing the entire family and parents and siblings separately. I LOVED that they are soo supportive of each other and you can see that support in their photos.

For Emma’s newborn session, the colors that were chosen were Peach and Pink. I first photographed Emma in props and my favorite prop was in the heart bowl. Then we moved onto beanbag/blanket shots and at first she was wide awake. After a full feeding, she slept like an angel and I was able to capture beautiful shots of her.
