Family Session at Snug Harbor

I love it when clients return to me for the photos, especially for their Family photos. She wanted to have both her immediate and extended family photographed at Snug Harbor in Staten Island. I love photographing there because it provides different scenes and looks to everybody’s pictures.

When we first met up, we walked to the pond and I photographed her entire family as a unit and then I photographed each individual family grouping separately and they had soo much fun, especially with their new addition Charlotte.

Then we walked to the nearest gardens located next to the Pond and took more family pictures in front of their summer flowers, where everybody held and snuggled baby Charlotte.

Afterwards we traveled to the Gazebo area and the pathway to the tropical flowers. After spending about more than an hour at Snug Harbor, we had a great time catching up and capturing everybody’s family photos.

Family Session from Florida to Staten Island

When I got a call from Milton requesting for a Family Session this summer, I was surprised because him and his son traveled all the way from Vero Beach, FL to see family in Staten Island, NY. So I was honored that he wanted to personally hire me to capture those family moments.

Milton and his family agreed on being photographed at Snug Harbor Cultural Center and I love Family sessions there because it’s such a relaxing environment there and I’m able to get to know my clients on a personal level. I photographed their family pictures at almost every site at Snug Harbor, such as the Perrenial Garden, in front of Connie Gretz’s Secret Garden and the Arch before the White Garden. They came in wearing all white tops (button down shirts and a knit top) coupled with jeans. Then more towards the end of their session, they changed into Green tops, which complimented the scenery at Snug Harbor. My favorite part of the session was when they had a “decompress” shot where they just made silly faces at the camera. It was a great way to end the session.

Overall, I’m soo happy that I had the opportunity to photograph his family and meet people from different parts of the United States.
